Rust Frequently Asked Questions

How Much RAM Do I Need to Host a Rust Server?
In Rust there are different types of servers, depending on how you fast you want the gameplay to be. The amount of RAM you need depends on the type of server and how big the map is. Vanilla Rust Servers require less RAM than Modded ones, so for Vanilla we recommend 6GB for a small map, and 8GB for a larger one. For a Modded Rust Server you will need at least 8GB for a small map and 10GB for a larger one.
How Do I Make a Rust Modded Server?
In order to make your Rust Modded Server, you'll have to install a modding framework. The most popular one is Oxide, with Carbon coming in second place. Both frameworks allow you to install plugins that give you the ability to change the Rust Server's gather rates, the day/night speed, create custom kits, etc.
How Do I Install Mods on a Rust Server?
After installing a modding framework, you can get plugins from websites such as UMod, CodeFling, Chaoscode. The most popular plugins are free, but in order to make your server differentiate from the others, using paid plugins would be an advantage.
Can I Post My Rust Gameplay Vidoes on Youtube or Twitch?
Yes you can. Rust has a large community on Youtube and Twitch, and people enjoy seeing other player's gameplay style and how their wipe went. It is also common for players to make a trailer for their Rust Server, showcasing the different features they offer, in order to attract more players for future wipes.
How Often Do Rust Servers Get Wiped?
Rust Servers wipe either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. This way players have more options and playstyles. If you want a more relaxed experience, you should choose servers that are wiped monthly. If you prefer fast paced gameplay, choose servers that are wiped weekly.

100/10 - RocketNode is Superior

I have had a fantastic experience with RocketNode after moving my FiveM server from another large company that had constant drop outs. Reliability in such a saturated market is an instant win and this team have nailed that. RocketNode support is top tier and I am yet to experience any issues with the servers. 100/10 all round. Thank you very much to the RocketNode team! I would recommend you to everyone!
