How to Make Your ETS2/ATS Server Private

Learn how to restrict access to your ETS2 or ATS server using the Friends Only setting or a password.

Making Your ETS2/ATS Server Private

If you want to limit who can join your ETS2 or ATS server, you have two options: enabling Friends Only mode or setting a Password. Each method offers a different level of privacy depending on how you want to manage player access.

Option 1: Friends Only Server

This option allows only users on your Steam friends list to join your server. It’s perfect for casual sessions with trusted friends.

  1. Go to the RocketNode Game Panel and log in.
  2. Select your ETS2 or ATS server.
  3. Stop the server from the Overview tab.
  4. Navigate to the Configuration tab.
  5. Find the field labeled Friends Only Server.
  6. From the dropdown, select true.

Only users on your Steam friends list will now be able to join.

Option 2: Password-Protected Server

If you want to allow non-friends to join but still limit access, use a server password.

  1. Go to the RocketNode Game Panel and log in.
  2. Select your ETS2 or ATS server.
  3. Stop the server from the Overview tab.
  4. Navigate to the Configuration tab.
  5. Find the field labeled Password.
  6. Enter the password you want users to type in when joining the server.

Only players who know the password will be able to connect.

You can combine both methods if you want maximum control. For example, enable Friends Only and also set a Password for an extra layer of security.
