Rust’s annual Easter event has arrived, and it’s bringing bunnies, baskets, and enough eggs to make your base look like a chocolate factory. The event went live on April 10th with no forced wipe, but plenty of new content and limited-time cosmetics to collect.
As always, players can expect a seasonal mix of competitive fun and loot-packed rewards — and this year, it’s all about the horses.
Once per in-game day, players will get a three-minute window to scramble across the map collecting as many eggs as they can. If you place in the top three, you’ll walk away with exclusive eggs that can be cracked open for rare items.

Even if you don’t make the podium, it’s still worth participating. All collected eggs can be upgraded to unlock better loot — turning every egg into a stepping stone toward high-tier weapons and gear.
Just like previous seasonal events in Rust, these collectible eggs come in three tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Here’s what you can expect from each:
Bronze Egg
Contains basic materials, chocolate bars, and small utility items like compound bows. Collect 10 to upgrade to a Silver Egg.
Silver Egg
Comes packed with more serious loot: jackhammers, pump shotguns, revolvers, and chainsaws. Collect 10 to upgrade to a Gold Egg.
Gold Egg
This is where things get real. Gold Eggs can contain high-tier gear including the M249, LR-300, multiple grenade launchers, and stacks of rockets.
Each Gold Egg requires a total of 1000 Painted Eggs to obtain.
To gain the upper hand in the egg hunts, there are special Easter-themed items that improve your egg-collecting efficiency.
Egg Basket
Lets you pick up eggs with a single click, saving precious time during hunts.
Bunny Ears, Bunny Onesie, Nest Hat, and Horse Costume
All grant “Egg Vision,” allowing players to see eggs from further away — a must-have if you’re trying to win consistently.
Facepunch has dropped a set of Easter-themed Horse Costumes and is expected to release more limited-time skins on the item store. These cosmetics are mostly community-created but offer fun new visuals for your rides.
While the Easter event is the highlight this week, developers have also been working on several other projects in the background. Here’s a quick overview:
Rust’s Easter event delivers another fun and rewarding seasonal twist to the game. Whether you’re diving into the egg hunts, trying out the new Horse Costumes, or just stocking up on gear from Gold Eggs, there’s something for everyone this April.
